During the 2018 San Diego Comic Con it was announced that the production company Atomic Toybox was developing a reboot of the cult classic Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. An official website was even launched to coincide with the announcement. After a year of suspense, we finally have an update on the project.
According to director Dustin Ferguson’s (Amityville: Evil Never Dies and the upcoming Direct to Video: Straight to Video Horror of the 90s) official Facebook page, it finally seems Attack of the Killer Tomatoes has begun shooting. Ferguson posted:
“Today I Direct the first attack scene for the “Attack of The Killer Tomatoes” reboot!!! This has been a long time coming and I couldn’t be more honored!”
With this news, it shouldn’t be too long now until fans can finally feast their eyes on what is sure to be a glorious revelation.
The original Attack of the Killer Tomatoes release in 1978 and spawned three sequels. It follows a group of scientists who ban together to save the world from mutated killer tomatoes.
