It’s finally happening.
After years of speculation, the long-awaited film based on the horror game Five Nights at Freddy’s is finally in production. Producer Jason Blum tweeted the news out himself (see below), confirming that Day One of filming was underway.
The project is filming under the guise Bad Cupcake. Emma Tammi (The Wind) is directing Five Nights at Freddy’s for Blumhouse.
Matthew Lillard (Thir13en Ghosts, Scream) is set to star in the video game adaptation, alongside Josh Hutcherson (Tragedy Girls) and Mary Stuart Masterson (Skin).

Jim Henson’s Creature Shop has been hard at work on the monstrous animatronics.
Five Nights at Freddy’s is a horror video game series in which you must survive the titular five nights at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza from the dangers of animatronic characters.
