Texas’ most infamous chainsaw-wielding killer has been getting lots of (Leather)Face Time lately.

In addition to the recently dropped trailer for the highly anticipated Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot on Netflix comes word from Deadline that Chain Saw Confidential, original Leatherface actor Gunnar Hansen’s memoir about the behind-the-scenes making of the seminal slasher classic, is being made into a feature film. What’s more, the project is now reportedly a priority over at Ambitious Entertainment.

Producer Kirk Shaw founded the new banner with Impossible Dream Entertainment, which is headed up by producers Yvette Yates Redick and Shaun Redick. Redick was previously a producer on Jordan Peele’s Get Out as well as BlackKklansman.

The making of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre was infamously a hellish experience, with the cast and crew braving the hot Texas sun to bring to the screen one of the most truly horrifying horror movies ever put to film. This should make for one hell of a movie, to say the least.

What do you make of this development? Are you looking forward to a film adaptation of Gunnar Hansen’s Chain Saw Confidential? Would you prefer just to see a documentary if you had your druthers? Or does this whole thing sound like something you’re going to pass on? Sound off in the comments below and let us and the rest of the movie loving world know your thoughts!
