Hollywood knows exactly what moviegoers want for Christmas.
Per Deadline, Legendary and Warner Bros. have closed a deal to bring us a sequel to the 1983 holiday classic A Christmas Story. Peter Billingsley is set to reprise the role of Ralphie. The project will debut on HBO Max.
Though not yet confirmed, sources tell the outlet that Julie Hagerty has signed on to play Ralphie’s mother.
The script was written by Nick Schenk, who also will executive produce, and Clay Kaytis will direct. Billingsley also will produce along with his partner Vince Vaughn through their Wild West Picture Show banner. Cale Boyter and Jay Ashenfelter will oversee for Legendary. Production is set to start at the end of February in Bulgaria.
