Neil Patrick Harris is the latest in an admittedly impressive line of on-screen talents to sign onto the wacky, quasi-Nicolas Cage biopic The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. The film envisions a fictionalized version of Cage who, creatively unfulfilled and facing financial ruin, must accept a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of a super fan played by Pascal. When things take a wildly dangerous turn, Cage is forced to live up to his own legend, channeling his most iconic and beloved onscreen characters in order to save himself and his loved ones.

According to THR, Harris is set to play Cage’s talent agent. Pedro Pascal and Tiffany Haddish have also committed to the project, which is currently filming and is directed by Tom Gormican, from a screenplay by Gormican and Kevin Etten.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent producers are Kevin Turen, Kristin Burr and Mike Nilon. The project is overseen at Lionsgate by James Myers and Brady Fujikawa. Lionsgate’s Robert Melnik negotiated the deal on behalf of the studio.

What do you make of this story? Does The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent sound like something that interest you? Or perhaps you’re not such a big fan of Nicolas Cage. If you are, then you might be in luck because this sounds like the most Nicolas Cage movie of all time!
