Courtesy of Deadline, Jake Gyllenhaal and Oscar Isaac have signed on to star in Francis and The Godfather, which will explore the drama and legendary battles that went into making the 1972 classic The Godfather. Isaac will portray The Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola. Gyllenhaal will play opposite Isaac as The Godfather producer Robert Evans.

Barry Levinson (Rain Man) is reportedly directing the picture, from a much sought after Black List script by Andrew Farotte. Levinson himself has reportedly redeveloped the script for his telling of the story.

Endeavor Content is handling worldwide rights with FilmNation.
