Talk about a ruff life.
Coming to us from The Hollywood Reporter, Amy Adams is set to star in Nightbitch for Annapurna Pictures. The studio snagged the rights to Rachel Yoder’s upcoming novel of the same name after a competitive bidding war.
According to the outlet, the Nightbitch “explores motherhood via a darkly comedic portrayal of an unnamed woman and former artist thrust into stay-at-home domesticity after the birth of her son. The parents become increasingly worried and convinced that their baby girl may be turning into a dog.”
Yoder will pen the screenplay as well as executive produce the project. Adams and Stacy O’Neil are producing through their Bond Group Entertainment banner.
Nightbitch will mark the fifth collaboration between Annapurna Pictures and Adams, who previously partnered on The Master, American Hustle, Her and Vice. The partnership has thus far resulted in three of Adams’ five Academy Award nominations. Could a sixth be on the horizon?
Yoder’s book will be published by Doubleday in summer 2021
