Oscars 2020: The Complete Winners List

The 92nd Academy Awards wrapped up late last evening, thus putting a bow on the final Oscars ceremony of the 2010’s. And boy were there some shockers!

In a stunning upset, Bong Joon-Ho’s black comedy Parasite almost swept the 92nd Academy Awards on Sunday night, making history along the way when it became the first foreign language film to take the top honor at the Oscars. Its collective victories in the international feature film, director and original screenplay categories were also a first for a South Korean movie. The film only lost in two categories: film editing and production design. Taika Waititi nabbed adapted screenplay for Jojo Rabbit.

Meanwhile, Renée Zellweger (Judy), Joaquin Phoenix (Joker), Laura Dern (Marriage Story) and Brad Pitt (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) continued their awards season dominance with their acting wins. Mendes’ war drama 1917, which was expected to rule the night following its 10 nods and stellar awards season, only took home three prizes in technical categories. The Irishman was snubbed entirely, despite its 10 nominations.
