With the live-action Aladdin now in theaters and The Lion King just around the corner, remake fever is burning hot over at Disney and the Mouse House isn’t showing any signs of cooling off.
If Variety is to be believed, Disney is eyeing (500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb to helm the forthcoming live-action remake of Snow White. In fact, Webb seems to be the studio’s top choice for the project.
The Girl On the Train screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson is currently in talks to pen the script, which is said to “expand upon” both the story and the music from the original 1938 animated mainstay. Benj Pasek and Justic Paul, the duo behind La La Land and The Greatest Showman, are writing new songs for the film.
Webb also directed the Amazing Spider-Man films starring Andrew Garfield as well as two Fox Searchlight films: Gifted with Chris Evans and The Only Living Boy In New York.
