After much ado, we finally know who will play the Dark Knight in Director Matt Reeves’ forthcoming The Batman for Warner Bros.
From Variety, Twilight‘s own Robert Pattinson will be our next Bruce Wayne/ Batman.
Production on The Batman could begin this fall or early 2020 and is slated for release on June 25, 2021.
Matt Reeves (who directed the last two films of the recent Planet of the Apes trilogy) took over directing duties for Ben Affleck back in 2017 and has been developing the project ever since. In addition to writing and directing, Reeves will produce The Batman alongside Planet of the Apes collaborator Dylan Clark.
At 32, Pattinson is the youngest actor to portray the Caped Crusader on the big screen. He most recently starred in Claire Denis’ sci-fi drama High Life (you can read my review here).
