F. Gary Gray has reportedly booked his ticket to Saints Row.
According to SlashFilm, the director will helm a feature film adaptation of the popular video game series. Greg Russo, the writer behind the upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot, has been tapped to pen the screenplay.
The game series launched in 2006 and follows the misfit crew known as the Third Row Saints as they battle l rival fans for dominance over the fictional cities of Stilwater and Steelport and ultimately elevate their leader to the presidency of the United States.
If you remove the player from the Saints Row games, you’re essentially left with a Fast and Furious movie, which is fitting since F. Gary Gray directed Fate of the Furious. The director’s previous credits include the NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton, Friday, The Negotiator and the upcoming Men In Black: International, which opens June 14, 2019.
