That didn’t take long.

Avengers: Endgame is the new record holder for the most first-day pre-sales, according to Fandango. The highly-anticipated film knocked off previous title champion Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

What makes the feat even more impressive is that the film broke the record in merely six hours.

Actual ticket pre-sale numbers are not yet known.

Check out Fandango’s new list of top five first day pre-sellers:

  1. Avengers: Endgame (2019)
  2. Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)
  3. Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)
  4. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)
  5. Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

Fandango was pretty excited about the achievement, as made clear by Managing Editor Erik Davis:

“We’ve never seen anything like this – it’s truly a groundbreaking accomplishment – as fans simply cannot wait to see how this epic saga comes to a close.”

While these are incredible numbers, keep in mind that online advanced movie ticketing is continually becoming more popular, so similar records will continue to be broken as more and more people grow comfortable with this way of buying tickets.

Avengers: Endgame is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and stars stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, and Bradley Cooper, with Gwyneth Paltrow and Josh Brolin. Check out the synopsis:

A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.

Avengers: Endgame opens in theaters on April 26, 2019.
