Yep. Renown German documentarian Werner Herzog will be the villain for the first live-action Star Wars television show, The Mandalorian.

Herzog has lent his acting talents to many projects over the years, including the 2012 Tom Cruise flick Jack Reacher. Now it seems the Grizzly Man filmmaker is headed for a galaxy far, far away.

Speaking with IndieWire, Herzog said:

“Now this is not a secret anymore, a small part, real small part, in The Mandalorian, the Star Wars sequel or whatever you call it. I like to [act] because I know I’m good on screen, but only if I have to play a real villain.”

The details on exactly who or what Herzog is playing are not yet known.

The Mandalorian is being written by Iron Man director Jon Favreau, who will also film the show’s pilot. Additional directors for the show include Dallas Bryce Howard and Thor: Ragnarok‘s Taika Waititi.

The series will debut on Disney+ when the streaming service launches sometime within the Fall of 2019. Here’s the description:

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic. The series will be written and executive produced by Emmy-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau, as previously announced, with Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) directing the first episode. Additional episodic directors include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok). It will be executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer.
