Octavia Spencer and Melissa McCarthy are in talks to join the superhero movie Thunder Force for Netflix.
Sources are telling The Wrap that the film will be directed by McCarthy’s frequent collaborator and husband Ben Falcone. The couple will also produce the project along with Marc Platt.
Though much is not known in the way of plot, the film will reportedly center around Spencer and McCarthy obtaining superpowers.
Behind the scene, Spencer recently executive-produced Best Picture winner Green Book. In front of the camera, she was nominated for Oscars for her roles in The Shape of Water and Hidden Figures after winning for The Help.
McCarthy was most recently seen in Can You Ever Forgive Me? and received an Oscar nomination for the role. She was previously nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Bridesmaids.
Together, McCarthy and Falcone previously worked together on Tammy, The Boss and more recently Life of the Party.
