John Krasinski blew the doors open to a career of possibilities when he directed last year’s breakout horror flick A Quiet Place.
After the film’s box office success, talks of a sequel were inevitable. John Krasinski signed on to pen the planned script, but at the time had not committed to directing it. Well, it looks like it is now official.
Deadline broke the news yesterday that John Krasinski will indeed return to direct A Quiet Place 2 and that production is set to begin in July.
As far as story, it looks like the sequel will continue following Emil Blunt’s character. Blunt, who recently won a SAG Award for her turn in the original, has locked in to reprise the role.
John Krasinski himself seemingly conformed the news with a post via his Instagram account, where he also dropped the film’s release date:
“…time to go back. #PartII 5-15-20”
